Local Tourist Colorado – Cuchara Country Music Festival

Where does all the time go?  We’re still here and we have lots of material to post, just been a bit BUSY!

By now, many of you know that we live and work in the mountains of Southern Colorado and we enjoy sharing our adventures and experiences here with the world with the world at large through the world-wide web.  We hope that somehow, some way, we will move a few people to see their own surroundings in a fresh light.  We all need to be reminded now and then that if we slow down a bit and look at familiar territory through the eyes of a tourist, we will find new adventures right in our own backyard.

It never ceases to amaze me how many people from the nearby cities of Pueblo, Colorado Springs and Denver have never heard of La Veta or Cuchara and when they come here, they wonder how they could have missed it, they feel as though they have discovered something really special.  Back in June, our small community rolled out the red carpet and invited the world to attend the Inaugural Cuchara Country Music Festival.  As you might guess, the world didn’t make it but a lot of folks did come who have never been here before.

Check out the Festival Website and plan on attending a bigger and even better event next summer.

  1. We will have to take a road trip to southern Colorado. It sounds wonderful. A hidden gem!

  2. Your header photo is stunning! Was that taken in So. Colorado?
